After I decided to move to Kauai, I realized how much of Texas I took for granted. Texas is such a wonderful state – and the people here are so incredibly prideful. Its like standing in the center of a group of Marines. The pride just radiates off the person and unless you are 100% immune to excitement, it will start to radiate into you.
Once I announced my departure of the Great State of Texas, I was told to go to Ennis to visit the Blue Bonnets. Let me get this straight … you want me to drive an hour away to go “visit” a field of flowers? You don’t have to tell me twice! And this is how I wound up driving to Ennis. Now, I have never been to this town. I’ve heard about it in passing, but wasn’t sure what to expect. Needless to say, it was amazing and I will go again.
I didn’t have a destination in mind, I just knew to go to Ennis and figure it out once I got there. Driving around aimlessly, loosely following a map, I found this area off the main road. Let me just say … TEXAS NEVER FAILS TO DISAPPOINT.
Between the clouds, the flowers (its the end of the season – not nearly as gorgeous as it usually is), and the wide open sky, I am so glad that I took the detour to Ennis. Almost made me want to move there!
